Since last Tuesday’s post a lot has happened for the Wings….After getting smoked by Toronto the Wings went on to play the Columbus Blue Jackets, and more than made up for their loss against Toronto. The final score was Detroit 9, Blue Jackets 1. But it makes you think where’s the consistency how a team can lose 5-1 and then come back and absolutely demolish a team, maybe it was the fact that Osgood was replaced by Jimmy Howard. Following the win last Wednesday Detroit pulled off another win against the Vancouver Canucks 3-1. Jimmy Howard was in goal again and made 31 saves, not bad for a back up. In their final win of the week Detroit played against the Anaheim Ducks and came out on top 7-4. It was a hat trick for Henrik Zetterburg , he also assisted two goals. Zetterburg seems to prove each and every game how valuable he is to the Wings. All and all not a bad week for the Wings, well maybe not for Chris Osgood who has been replaced the past three games by Jimmy Howard….

i like the weekly update. i miss some of the games so it's cool to get caught up. short and sweet, good blog.
ReplyDeletewhat do u think about last nights game? especially when they took back that goal? The stars are a good team, but i think that the Wings are better. Maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteLast night was the best game ever hahahahahahahahahaha. GO STARS, see you in 11 days again Detroit, anyway good blog

all the Wings are tryin to do is get Howard ready for the playoffs and make thier run, they just wanna get in and have the kid ready
ReplyDeleteYeah I think Howard is getting valuable experience. Love Osgood, but he's done. Time to move on. Have to agree Zetterberg played excellent this last week.
ReplyDeleteno offense to either of the last 2 comments, but they don't have a prayer of winning in the playoffs with Howard in net. you have to realize that with these 2 goalies, they won't even make the playoffs with the way Chicago and Columbus are playing.
ReplyDeleteI didnt include the stars win cuz I wanted to showcase the three wins, my next blog will be on the stars game and the other games this week. I think that they are trying to prep Howard but he isnt ready to be the leading goalie in the playoffs. Osgood will pull through, he is older and his times running out though and it drives me crazy how one game hes great and another game he just blows. But hes always played like that.
ReplyDelete9 goals is nice. Real nice. Good recapping. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteOsgood is great, but on to new players.
