For the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday thirteen was their lucky number. In the thirteenth game of the season the Wings defeated the Boston Bruins 2-0. It was a great game for Henrik Setterburg the assistant captain who scored the first goal during a power play in the first period. Thomas Homstram scored the second goal of the night making it his eighth goal of the season making him among the best in the NHL.
A part of the game that also shouldn't go unnoticed is the fact that Chris Osgood picked up his fiftieth career shut-out. When people think of Chris Osgood it’s almost like they don't give the guy credit. Years ago I remember watching Osgood fire a shot all the way across the ice scoring a goal...how often do you get to see that in hockey? Chris Osgood is a great goalie overall, but sometimes it seems like he just doesn't cut it for fans because sometimes he plays an amazing game and other times it seems like it was the worst game ever. In the end it's great to see that while the offense is scoring the goals the defense and goalie are preventing them.
The next wings game is Thursday against the San Jose Sharks.
